This is a smashing example of Verdejo, the flagship grape of Rueda. The strong aromas of white fruit and fresh herbs are the classic notes of this wine. Very tasty with a slight bitter edge and long finish. Clean, fresh and full of aromas. Go for it, you'll love it - and you'll probably have lots of people telling you how clever you were to discover it!
This is a delightful dry wine and another perfect example of all that's best in wines made with Verdejo - the 'Queen of Grapes'. It shows an edge of freshness typical of the grape - very fruity, nice and dry. At Palacio de Bornos, all the Verdejo grapes are harvested at night, and from the arrival at the winery until bottling they are handled with great care. This is a Crianza with good fresh aromas, a taste of ripe white fruits and a very long aftertaste. A wine happy to be drunk in its own company!
We really trust this producer and his wine. The winery is, quite simply, one of the best in Rioja. Riscal were the pioneers in this area and, from the very beginning, they have made some of the best whites in Rueda. This one is sharp, fresh and fruity with a predominant grape taste - exactly what you should expect from a white from Rueda. Superb aftertaste. Go for it!

A great wine from a great wine maker in yet another region rapidly emerging as one of the stars of the Spanish wine industry. This is one of the best wines in Rueda. Basa uses Verdejo - the grape of the moment if you want to produce a grassy and classy young white - with a little touch of Viura and Sauvignon Blanc. It's a stunning combination. Aromas of lavender, mango and maracuya. Strong at the palate, floral, fresh and dry. Just the thing to have sitting at the ready in the fridge.
