This is a fantastic little rose from Bodegas Protos. It is clean, crisp and full of great fruit smells and flavours. Strawberry, raspberry and cherry add to a magnificent wine that is not to be missed.
A young wine that spends 6 months in American oak to develop full body and a clean cut character. Another great example of a very well made young wine from this area, made from a blend of Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Deep red in colour with a complex aroma of red fruits, flowers and leather. Mouthfuls of taste and a long finish.
100% Tinta del Pais at its best. Super aromas of ripe black fruits with hints of vanilla and wood - this smooth, tasty red, aged in French oak is named after the market town of Penafiel, which means faithful rock. Colour is a deep cherry, taste is very intense but mellow, and the wine has a very long finish. Uncomplicated and yet elegant, this really is a wine that repays your faith in it!

Real Sitio de Ventosilla, now owned by the Cremades family, used to be a hunting estate belonging to Queen Isabella. Today, 500 hectares of vines stand on the old hunting land and produce outstanding wines like this wonderful, full-bodied Crianza. Strong aromas of vanilla, cinnamon and nuts are thanks to a leisurely stay of 12 months in American oak followed by 6 months in French vats. A further 12 months in bottle drift by to give it the finishing touch before it is released to market. Simply gorgeous.
A grand wine from a grand house. This Crianza assembles everything Protos have learnt about wine making in one bottle. The wine is a fabulous deep red in colour with aromas of fruit, leather and cinnamon and a hint of oak. The best way to experience it is with food cooked in a Horno Asador - the traditional roasting oven of Penafiel. Baby lambs, suckling pigs or fowl are seasoned, placed in an earthenware dish with a little water and roasted slowly for several hours. An Aga would probably be a good substitute. Make a meal of it!
Big and robust! Ther's no better way to sum up this fantastic wine. After 12 months in oak barrels it is another very fine example of why Pago de los Capellanes are creating a stir with their wines. In this case we have a slight blend of Cabernet Sauvignon to soften up the power of the local grape, Tinto Fino, and give a final product to match the top wines of the area. Full body and a very long finish, this is no shy, retiring wine - enjoy it with good hearty meats. Great with very mature cheeses.
