A classic Gewurztraminer from Somontano - one of Spain's coolest wine regions, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Bodegas Pirineos is one of the very few wine makers in Spain to work with Gewurztraminer and they make an excellent job of it. In German, the word 'gewurz' means 'spiced' - not a bad description for this wine. A barrel-fermented Chardonnay with just a touch of Macabeo. Superbly blended, this is a great example of Chardonnay character softened by Macabeo. Just the thing for anyone who doesn't like their Chardonnay too oaky. This is an important white that is creamy, fat and aromatic. Ideal for hot or cold white meats and cheese.
