This is an excellent organic wine made with Grenache grapes from old vines that has aged in French oak barrels for 6 months. It has a superb persistent taste of ripe red berries with smoky notes and a very pleasant finish. When organic wines achieve this standard, let's hope we see more and more of them!
A very fresh and pleasing white with a brilliant soft yellow colour that seems to capture the Mediterranean sunshine and reward you with the intense aroma of ripe white fruits. This is a superb Blanc de Blancs from Emporda-Costa Brava - the wine region in the northeast corner of Catalonia, separated from the French Roussillon region only by the French border. It has good acidity, a flowery edge, very good taste and a corner of bitterness. This won't disappoint and it will give any table you sit down to with a fish, paella or risotto dish, a place in the sun!
A lovely, good-value rose made 100% from Grenache. It's great with pasta, fish, or just a good old gossip with friends. Powerful never-ending aromas of rose petals are enhanced by strawberry, raspberry and cherry, and you may pick up a touch of cranberry and lime peel on the nose too. Dry, fresh and full, it offers good balance and just the right acidity to underscore all those delicious flavours.
Spanish Sauvignon Blancs often show greater complexity than the archetypal 'cat's pee on a gooseberry bush' associated with this grape, and this one is no exception. On the nose, intense and very complex floral aromas evolve into tropical fruits lime, pineapple, passion fruit. The colour is straw yellow, but look carefully and you'll pick up glints of green. It's fresh and dry with a very pleasant and long aftertaste. Great value for money too, which always helps.
From the prestigious region of Montsant, Etim White is from the very scare grape varietal of White Grenache. Part aged in french oak barrels and part aged on it lees, this fantastic wine is elegant and full of citrus flavours.
This is a delightful dry wine and another perfect example of all that's best in wines made with Verdejo - the 'Queen of Grapes'. It shows an edge of freshness typical of the grape - very fruity, nice and dry. At Palacio de Bornos, all the Verdejo grapes are harvested at night, and from the arrival at the winery until bottling they are handled with great care. This is a Crianza with good fresh aromas, a taste of ripe white fruits and a very long aftertaste. A wine happy to be drunk in its own company!
