After 14 months in American and French oak casks, this wine has got everything you could ask for. Mixed with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon this is a first class example of what Monastrell should be. On the nose, you'll find blackberries, raspberries, spices and liquorice. Overall, it's powerful, complex and rich, yet very well balanced, it's full and meaty, with a long, long finish. A must for anyone who loves a red with real oomph.
As drunk by judges. A medal-winning red that has pleased the hardest-to-please palates! This winemaker does not follow the rules as far as wine grading is concerned. It is the criteria of the oenologist that are followed, which results in a full-bodied and wonderfully tasty wine, strong in aromas and flavour but smooth and very pleasing. Long aftertaste. Partner this wine, in true Castilian style, with flavoursome meat dishes, chorizo, jamon, or strong cheese!
Big and robust! Ther's no better way to sum up this fantastic wine. After 12 months in oak barrels it is another very fine example of why Pago de los Capellanes are creating a stir with their wines. In this case we have a slight blend of Cabernet Sauvignon to soften up the power of the local grape, Tinto Fino, and give a final product to match the top wines of the area. Full body and a very long finish, this is no shy, retiring wine - enjoy it with good hearty meats. Great with very mature cheeses.
