A classic Gewurztraminer from Somontano - one of Spain's coolest wine regions, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Bodegas Pirineos is one of the very few wine makers in Spain to work with Gewurztraminer and they make an excellent job of it. In German, the word 'gewurz' means 'spiced' - not a bad description for this wine. So if you're looking for intense aromas with a superb fruity taste - a wine that's dry, elegant and promises a new experience - look no further!
A fresh, full-bodied, medium-dry white made entirely from the tiny picapoll, a delightful, oval-shaped grape indigenous to the Pla de Bages region of Catalunya. The wine's delicate, pale yellow colour and aromas of honeyed apricot and maracuya are largely thanks to the use of this eccentric little grape, known for its thick skin.
Thick skinned it may be, but few foodies remain impervious to the delights of this wine which can be enjoyed equally well with cold meats like Parma or Serrano ham or thumping main courses such as paella and risotto. Terrific with fowl or blue fish as well.
A barrel-fermented Chardonnay with just a touch of Macabeo. Superbly blended, this is a great example of Chardonnay character softened by Macabeo. Just the thing for anyone who doesn't like their Chardonnay too oaky. This is an important white that is creamy, fat and aromatic. Ideal for hot or cold white meats and cheese.
