100% Syrah, this is intense, oily and full bodied, yet soft and velvety, with notes of mint and eucalyptus, spices and toffee. It's also benefited from a year's aging in French Allier oak barrels. Crop after crop, Spain is improving the standards of their Syrah wines and this one is possibly amongst the top ten Spanish Syrahs. Incidentally, this wine was named after the birth date of winemaker Jose Manuel Echeverria's daughter. 'Felices cumpleanos' (happy birthday) to her, and also, we hope, many happy returns to this wine, which makes a lovely birthday present in anyone's language.
After 13 months in French oak barrels, this is a fantastically bold wine from one of our favourite producers. Elegant on the palate, but with plenty of stuffing and complex black plum, tobacco, mineral and floral notes, it's balanced, fresh and long. An alluring red that shows both intensity and finesse - definitely one of the best wines of the year. Don't miss it!
A big wine with a deep red colour and a bold taste. Aged for 14 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered, this is a warm, full-bodied wine made from a glorious combination of equal parts Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo. You'll experience an assortment of fruit aromas including black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry - some that are a little spicy - with a very long aftertaste. Best enjoyed when decanted.
