El Gaitero Cider

This classic sparkling cider from Asturias is crystal clear, tastes of crisp, fresh apples and makes a perfect thirst quencher. Light in alcohol, it's a great alternative at parties for anyone who wants a refreshing drink without the prospect of getting too tipsy.

Asturias in the Cornisa of the Cantabric sea has a long tradition of growing apples - the most plentiful fruit of the region. Hardly surprising then, that the favourite drink of the area is 'sidra' or apple cider and that El Gaitero is known the world over.

Tempranillo means 'early ripener' in Spanish and you'd have to get up very early indeed to find one that's better value than this. It may be young, but it has the heart and soul of classic Rioja, with its ruby red colour, ripe berry flavours and good finish. Its sheer drinkability makes it perfect for an informal roast lamb Sunday lunch or for sharing with friends on a summer's evening outdoors.

Grenache is deservedly the favoured grape for making stunning roses and this is a perfect example of the art. A rose from Rioja, this is irresistibly drinkable - dry and crisp with refreshing aromas of raspberry and strawberry. Slightly chilled it is unbeatable and so easy to enjoy with friends, over dinner or at a summer BBQ. And exceptional value for money. If you feel in the pink, don't buy one, buy a dozen.

This is a wine that compares with the best whites of Rueda, only from Rioja - a superb wine, full of the taste of nuts and spices, sharp and yet gentle to the palate with great aftertaste. With a natural aromatic freshness, this is just what you should expect from a wine loaded with Viura. Dedicate at least one summer to this wine!

Campante White 2007

A dry northern white with distinguishing Palomino notes, very fine and intense but not too fruity. The taste is very fresh with an edge of bitterness. Good with white fish.

This is a very nice blend of Palomino and Torrontes, two very distinctive grapes from this area. The wines from this D.O. are generally very soft and pleasant but not short of aromas and after taste. Superb value for money.

Sola Fred 2007

A young wine with creamy and fresh aromas of berries, especially raspberry, strawberry and blackberry. Very fresh at the palate with a superb taste that grows into a very long finish. Although modest in price, it certainly doesn't hide its quality and taste. In fact, this could easily be the everyday Spanish red that you've been looking for!
