Whites, whites and whites! Rueda is among the top white wine producing areas in the world. The local grape, Verdejo, is very special and so are the whites of this area. They are reasonable in price and very satisfying. Full of grape expression, clean, sharp and with a very well balanced acidity they are definitely worth a try!
The Rueda wine region sits between the provinces of Valladolid, Segovia and Avila all in the area of Castile. Being part of central Spain means that this area has a continental climate, with cold winters and short but very hot summers. Known mostly for the production of white wines, Rueda gained notoriety when several of the best wine makers from Rioja settled in the area and began to develop the Verdejo grape to its best.
