Fresh and fruity whites are the trademark of this area. The result of a good blend of the local grapes Treixadura and Torrontes give a superior wine. This blend is second to none when we look for that relaxing easy and light drink or some of the best companions for a mix fish grill, good shellfish or sole.
This D.O. is situated at the western part of the province of Orense, Galicia. The main characteristic of this area is the fact that it runs alongside of the river Mino, Avia and Arnoia, hence the name of “ribeiro”, meaning proximity of the vines to the river. The climate is Atlantic, with low temperatures in winter, high risk of frost in the spring and very hot summers.
