Not much can be said about this area that has not yet been printed many times. This is of the most prestigious wine areas in Spain. The wines of this region are controlled under the D.O. Jerez -Xeres - Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlucar de Barrameda. The dry and elegant wines of Jerez are part of the Andalusian history.

Wine region's location

Jerez is located in the province of Cadiz, which is located in the southern most tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Historically, Jerez is one of the most prestigious wine areas in Spain. Known throughout out the world is their very famous Sherry which is dry, sharp, sensual and elegant. Its aroma is very fresh and distinct flowery Manzanilla. The area enjoys a very temperate climate, The winds from the Atlantic help moderate the temperature and the maturing of the grapes to perfection.

Wine characteristics

D.O. Sherry – Oloroso: Oloroso wine is the result of a long ageing process. It is a wine of high alcohol contents, sometimes reaching up to 20%. Dark mahogany colour, full body, aromas of walnuts. Very dry.

D.O. Sherry – Pedro Ximenez: Made of 100% Pedro Ximenezgrape, this is natural sweet wine, among the best Spanish sweet wines. This wine is oily, with aromas of dry fruits, specially raisins.
