The wines of this D.O. are on the pricy side , but worth every penny. Only single grapes: Petit Verdot, Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon, all of them excellent in aroma, taste and neck. Drinking any of these wines is always a very enjoyable experience. These are the wines for that very special occasion.
Wine region's location
This D.O. is a very singular case as it is extremely small and only has one wine producer. The winery is within the Casa de Vacas estate, in the vicinity of Malpica de Tajo, in the Province of Toledo. This estate has been in the hands of the Falco family (Marques de Grinon) since 1262. The climate of this area is continental, hard and extreme. For this reason watering the vines is a must, since there is hardly any rainfall through the summer and only some generally during harvest time. This D.O. produces outstanding red wines sought after all the world over.
