Spanish Wine Regions > Campo de Borja

We have put together a selection of wines from this region that we believe hit the spot. Firstly you have the young reds which are very good value for money. They have good colour, an intense aroma and a lovely fruity taste. On the other hand you have typical barrel aged crianzas which are softer and rounded but equally interesting. These are wines that will help you enjoy a good meal of red meat and will not break you bank account, however to get the best out of them make sure you let them breath before drinking.

Wine region's location

Campo de Borja is located in the northwest corner of the province of Zaragoza, just 60Km from the capital city of the same name. This D.O. lies between the foot of the mountains of the Sistema Iberico and the Ebro river. This leads to quite an extreme continental climate, very harsh and windy winters and torrid summers.

Wine characteristics

White Wines
Mostly produced with Macabeo, they are light, fresh and pleasant.

Rose Wines
Produced with a high content of Grenache grape which makes them quite fresh.

Red Wines
The most important wine variety of this D.O.. These wines have a dark cherry colour with aromas of ripe black fruits, very fruity and meaty taste. In general, their taste is quite representative of the Grenache variety.
